Second order ODEs

In general, higher order differential equations are more complicated and harder to solve than first order. However, there are certain approaches we can follow which depend on the specific form of the ODEs. In this chapter we focus on second order ODEs but in some cases, the method can extend to solve differential equations of order higher than 2. For the most part, the equations we deal with here are linear. Solution of nonlinear second order ODEs which can be reduced to first order, are discussed briefly.
